Do you have a favorite book series? My own personal favorite is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. The premier of the series was last Saturday, so I hosted a viewing party for a few friends.
It's a series based in Scotland, so some Gaelic wording and some kilts were in order!
Some scones, short bread cookies, and Scottish jam....
Yep, that's a kilt around that chip bowl! (sort of...it's really a my hubby's shirt!!)
Real men wear kilts, aye?
A few mantle decorations...
Some wine charms in the outlander theme....one of the friends in attendance had given these to me as a gift. They were from Etsy.
The party printables were dowloaded from Professional Fangirls.
The season premier was well done, stayed true to the book,
and we're looking forward to this Saturday! Tulach Ard!!

I went to a viewing party too! You're looks fabulous. My group loved the first eposode, even those who have not read the books.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vicki!
DeleteLooks like a lot of fun! Good food, pretty decor, love the theme... :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lory!
DeleteHi! I'm visiting your blog from Christine's "Table It!".
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! This is the way to get a party started!!! That Sam Heughan is a real cutie patootie! You should make sure he sees this and hope he'll make an appearance at your next party! :-)
I LOVE the idea of using your husband's shirt as a kilt! That really is a neat idea!!! Adding the belt made it look that much more like an actual kilt. Very smart! And yes...real men DO wear kilts! :-)
You really put a lot of thought (and work!) into creating a buffet that is both attractive and fun while capturing the essence of the program. I'm glad you and your friends had a good time with it all!
Thank you, Alycia! :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds familiar, I wonder if hubby read the books. The party was a great idea. Love all of the fun details that you put into it!! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
