Pretty Little Pillows and a Cake!

Hello everyone!

Today I'm sharing some pretty little pillow projects with you!  : )   I recently learned how to embroider, and on long trips I like to practice.  Here are a couple of my latest projects.
Tatting, crochet and embroidery, oh my!  Add some extra bling - and it's complete!

The embroidery part is my work, and the crochet and tatting were already done; I just sewed them on.

I also made this pretty cake this week, and thought I might as well photograph it as well.  It's a birthday cake for a lovely friend.

Every week I have coffee with a lovely group of friends, and we celebrate each person's birthday with cake and presents.  We have been meeting once a week for coffee and conversation and support for the past 11 years.  We take turns providing the cake, and it was my turn this time.  Here is the box I decorated for the cake.
I used a Dover clip art CD, and printed on pretty scrapbook paper.
Next, I made this sweet bookmark for her.

My project for next week is to finish this pillow...
I used a combination of fabrics, crochet, beads and embroidery.  Next I'll add a ruffle of red velvet.

Happy Creating!
Catherine

    1. Thank you for your sweet comments, Diane. (I really don't crochet either, I cheat and buy the crochet parts already done and just attach them to my projects!)

    1. Thank you, Peggy! I can't take credit for the crochet grapes...I bought a doily and cut out the grape clusters to use in projects...I admire crochet very much, but don't really know how to do it. I found embroidery easier to learn. I will come over and visit you at Transformed Tuesday - thank you for the invitation! : )
