Vintage baby shoe Angel ornaments

What kind of gift do you give to a grandmother?  Hand made and heart felt gifts are the best!  I made these one of a kind gifts for my mother-in-law for Christmas.  She opened them early at Thanksgiving time since we were in town.
These are vintage baby shoe Angel ornaments!  I got the idea from Kimberly at Art Joy Stuff.    Kimberly made ornaments with vintage photos of children.  Since this was a gift, I used photos of my mother-in-law's five children.  I even found a pink baby shoe for the girl ornament!
Here is her reaction while opening her gift!! : )  :  )  :  )

It warmed my heart to bring such happiness to her.
My mother-in-law loves angels so much, she named her daughter "Angel."  So these ornaments are quite fitting!

...And this would be my husband's baby photo!  Ha ha ha, his mother said that this was his "smile" at that age!  This just cracks me up!

Here's how I made them:
Drilled a hole in the back of the shoe, then tied ribbon in a loop to make the ornament holder.

Glued cheese cloth to the inside of the shoes with hot glue.

Printed on card stock and cut out the photos.

And added a bow and some Christmas jewelry...I think this was an earring.

...love pink!!

Here is my inspiration photo.
You can visit Art Joy Stuff on etsy for similar ornaments here.  She makes such beautiful things!

Thanks for visiting my little corner of bloggie land.
Hugs, Catherine
